Introduced in 1977, the Reference 5402BA is the very first solid 18K yellow gold iteration of the legendary Royal Oak "Jumbo." It shares the exact proportions and ultra-thin silhouette as the original 1972 steel model designed by Gérald Genta, but elevates the sports watch into a luxury statement piece.
This specific vintage variant is highly coveted by collectors due to its "logo down" dial geometry, where the applied white gold "AP" monogram sits distinctly above the 6 o'clock marker rather than below the 12 o'clock marker. The dial features a champagne-toned execution of Audemars Piguet's classic "Petite Tapisserie" guilloché pattern, a tightly spaced, square-grid motif that reflects light dynamically.
Its monolithic case structure flows seamlessly into the iconic integrated bracelet, both defined by an immaculate interplay of brushed surfaces and razor-sharp, polished bevels.
